“Rick” Magaña is a professional with more than 25 years of experience in the meetings, events, marketing, and entertainment industries. He is currently the CEO of Actnow! Meeting Planner & Marketing Experience, a company specializing in the design and production of experiences, conferences, conventions, incentive trips, and experiential marketing strategies, guided by the philosophy “Unlock Human Connections.”
Throughout his professional career, he has worked with leading companies and organizations in the entertainment, marketing, and events industries, including Reino Aventura, Grupo Mágico, World Trade Center Mexico City, OCESA, and Six Flags Mexico, before establishing himself as an entrepreneur at the helm of Actnow!.
Within Meeting Professionals International (MPI), she has held various leadership positions. She served as President of the MPI Mexico Chapter, then as Chair of the MPI LATAM Regional Council for 2024–2025, and currently serves as Past Chair of the MPI LATAM Regional Council, a member of the MPI Sustainability Advisory Council, a member of the international Anti-Human Trafficking initiatives, and a member of the MPI Board Development Committee for 2026.
Her involvement in the industry has focused particularly on leadership, sustainability, inclusion, innovation, human connection, and social responsibility, promoting the power of events and live experiences as platforms capable of fostering meaningful relationships among people, organizations, and communities.
He also serves as a speaker and columnist for NEO Magazine, addressing topics related to leadership, experiential marketing, sustainability, innovation, and new trends in the meetings industry.
Rick holds a bachelor's degree in Communication Sciences and Public Relations, and throughout his career, he has combined his business experience with active participation in professional associations, convinced that the future of the industry depends on creating experiences that are more human, responsible, inclusive, and sustainable.
