MARTHA J. SHERIDAN

Martha J. Sheridan brings more than 30 years of experience in destination marketing to her role as President and CEO of Meet Boston, an organization she transformed and rebranded from the Greater Boston Convention & Visitors Bureau in 2022. As an experienced leader in tourism, she provides strategic direction to the organization—which has more than 1,000 members—in its mission to build a strong and equitable visitor economy for the region. Since taking the helm at Meet Boston, Sheridan has quadrupled the organization’s operating budget.

Sheridan holds and has held leadership positions in various local, regional, and national industry organizations. She has served on the board of directors of the U.S. Travel Association (USTA) and was recently named President of the Destinations International Foundation, an organization focused on research, advocacy, workforce development initiatives, and DEI. With this appointment, Sheridan became the first woman to have served as president of both Destinations International and its Foundation.

Sheridan is a prominent member of the Boston Soccer 2026 committee, which successfully secured Massachusetts as the host of seven matches for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. She serves on the board of directors for FIFA Boston 26 and founded the Greater Boston Sports Commission to attract future national and international sporting events to the region. Sheridan also played a key role in bringing the MICHELIN Guide to Greater Boston for the first time in 2025.

In 2015, Sheridan was named one of the Top 25 Women in the Meetings Industry by Meetings and Conventions Magazine, and in 2022 she received the Destination Organization Leadership Award from Destinations International. In 2022, 2023, and 2025, she was included on the Boston Business Journal’s Power 50 list, and she has appeared on Boston Magazine’s list of the 150 Most Influential Bostonians every year since 2022. In 2025, Sheridan was inducted into the Smart Women in Meetings Hall of Fame, and Meet Boston was recognized as one of the Top Women-Led Businesses in Massachusetts by Boston Globe Magazine and The Women’s Edge.
