With more than 15 years in the events industry, Irene has a Master's Degree in Marketing from
Tecnológico de Monterrey, a Diploma in Urban Regeneration and Tourism Strategies,
Spain, and an Engineering Degree in Hotel Management.
With an extensive experience in the events industry she has worked in hotels, leading
commercial teams in the main convention centers in Quito, she was the commercial representative
for Ecuador of Barceló Congresos España, and worked for more than 6 years in the
development of meeting tourism for Ecuador and Quito in the Ministry of Tourism of
Ecuador and Quito Turismo promoting the development of the events industry at local,
national and international level.
Recognized by Latin American Meetings magazine as one of the 11 most influential leaders
of 2025 in Latin America, recognized by Fiexpo Group as Best Professional of
city marketing in Latin America in meeting tourism, and recognized by the
Women Economic Forum Ecuador as Exceptional Woman in the tourism category.
President of MPI Club Ecuador, professor at Universidad San Francisco de Quito,
Vice President of the Galapagos Volcanic Seas Foundation for the conservation and education
of the islands.
