Hugo is a successful strategist in the events industry with more than 30 years of experience, and participation in the organization of an innumerable number of congresses, conventions, exhibitions, corporate events, shows, special events and even papal visits.
He has national and international certifications in the industry such as:
- CMP (Certified Meeting Professional) awarded by the EIC (Events Industry Council).
- CEM (Certified Exhibition and Events Managament) awarded by IAEE (International Association for Exhibitions and Events).
- COEXPO (COE) (Certificate in Exhibitions Organization) granted by AMPROFEC
He served as president of AMPROFEC, the Mexican Association of Trade Show, Exhibition, and Convention Professionals, A.C., from 2012 to 2014.
He was a founding partner of PCO Meetings México, A.C., and served on various boards of directors.
He served as spokesperson for the National Committee of the Meetings Industry—the predecessor to COMIR, the industry’s umbrella organization in Mexico—from 2013 to 2014.
He has served on various boards of directors for the MPI Mexico Chapter and is currently President-elect for 2026.
He has contributed to various industry publications, including Latin America Meetings, Mundo Expo Radio, MDC, Informa BTL, and Panorama Turístico.
For 15 years, he was a founding partner and CEO of T organiza, and since 2018, he has been a managing partner at LKD Events and ABATUR, companies specializing in the operation and organization of corporate and trade association events.
He was also the founder, partner, and CEO of Event Industry Show, the only trade show dedicated to event production and organization in Latin America.
He has delivered numerous lectures and taught certificate programs in Mexico and Latin America, both at the university and corporate levels, all related to event organization and the events industry in general.
He believes that events are not only a gathering place but also generate knowledge, culture, relationships, emotions, and entertainment; they foster business and drive economies, and can even shift mindsets and motivations. For this reason, they must be executed with a high degree of professionalism, strategy, leadership, and passion.
