Hugo is a successful strategist in the events industry with more than 30 years of experience, and participation in the organization of an innumerable number of congresses, conventions, exhibitions, corporate events, shows, special events and even papal visits.
He has national and international certifications in the industry such as:
- CMP (Certified Meeting Professional) awarded by the EIC (Events Industry Council).
- CEM (Certified Exhibition and Events Managament) awarded by IAEE (International Association for Exhibitions and Events).
- COEXPO (COE) (Certificate in Exhibitions Organization) granted by AMPROFEC
He was president of AMPROFEC, Asociación Mexicana de Profesionales en Ferias,
Exposiciones y Convenciones, A.C. during the period 2012 - 2014.
He was a founding member of PCO Meetings México, A.C. and participated in various boards of directors.
He served as Spokesperson of the National Committee of the Meetings Industry, predecessor of COMIR, the industry's umbrella organization in Mexico during 2013-2014.
He has been a member of several boards in MPI Mexico Chapter and is currently President-elect 2026.
He has been a contributor to various industry media such as Latin America Meetings, Mundo Expo Radio, MDC, Informa BTL, Panorama Turístico.
For 15 years he was a founding partner and General Director of T organizes, and as of 2018 is Managing Partner of LKD Events and ABATUR companies specializing in operation and organization of corporate and trade events.
He was also creator, partner, and CEO of Event Industry Show, the only exhibition dedicated to the production and organization of events in Latin America.
He has given several conferences and diploma courses in Mexico and Latin America, both at university and business level, all related to the organization and the event industry in general.
He believes that events are not only a meeting point, they also generate knowledge, culture, relationships, emotions, entertainment, promote business and move economies, they can even move consciences and wills, therefore they must be done with high professionalism, strategy, leadership and passion.
