
After a terrible accident that caused her to lose her legs, Gabriela Ruiz Zetina has overcome every challenge thanks to positive psychology to become one of the few women in the world to master walking with bilateral prostheses.
Born in Mexico City, Gabriela Ruíz Zetina moved at an early age to the city of Morelia, Michoacán. There she lived most of her life, where she studied business administration at ITESM. As part of his initiative and desire for independence, he spent the last three semesters in the state of Querétaro. During her 4 years in Querétaro, she returned home to Morelia every weekend.
On August 29, 2009, on one of the many trips from the city of Queretaro to Morelia, an accident occurred on the highway. After 16 days and 9 surgeries, Gabriela Ruiz Zetina woke up in intensive care. Contrary to expectations, she woke up knowing that she did not have her legs, but deeply grateful to life. She lived the term positive psychology, which helped her recovery extraordinarily. Thanks to her strength of will, mettle, discipline and great commitment to her life, she has once again had great achievements.
By September 2010, Gabriela Ruiz Zetina stopped using wheelchairs and began her recovery process, which has been admired by doctors and prosthetists. Today, she is one of the few women who walks with bilateral prostheses and dominates them in the world. She is an active member of Walking With New Legs, representing Mexico in the practice of climbing. She dedicates her time to various altruistic activities, training in high performance sports, giving motivational and high impact talks and conferences.
Gabriela Ruíz Zetina concluded her master's degree in Quality and Productivity Engineering expecting to return to the industry, but her destiny was different, leading her to neuro coaching, supporting courses and workshops for the personal and professional development of people and raising awareness and promoting the culture of prevention, savings and investment through life insurance.
